VMware Launches Point of Presence in Australia to Deliver Local Access to Endpoint and Workload Protection for Regulated Organisations

Part of VMware’s role is as a trusted advisor and making sure enterprises understand how they can methodically get to the end state. Everybody loves the idea of being fully automated and doing IT as a service, but they have to start small.

The VMware Carbon Black Cloud platform now available from Sydney facility for more secure, in-country service

SYDNEY, Australia — November 17, 2020 –– VMware Inc. (NYSE: VMW), a leading innovator in enterprise software, today announced its local point of presence (PoP) of VMware Carbon Black Cloud is now generally available. The PoP, hosted in Sydney will deliver cloud native endpoint and workload protection to highly regulated industries such as government bodies and banks that require a more secure, sovereign environment.

“Last year, we announced our intention to invest in a new PoP in Sydney for our Australian and New Zealand customers as we continue to deliver on the promise of intrinsic security across any app, cloud, or device,” said Matt Bennett, Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, VMware Carbon Black. “The new PoP will offer security without compromise, helping our customers to better safeguard their organisations while also meeting local compliance and regulations.

“Highly regulated industries such as government, healthcare, critical infrastructure and finance often face a lack of clarity around legal and privacy jurisdiction for cloud services. Leveraging the VMware Carbon Black Cloud Platform in a more secure, sovereign facility, customers can gain access to the benefits of modern cloud technologies while protecting both endpoints and workloads, all provisioned within Australian borders.”

VMware Carbon Black Cloud protects endpoints and workloads against advanced threats using a single platform, console and agent to prevent and respond to attacks faster. VMware Carbon Black Cloud thwarts attacks by making it easier to analyse billions of system events to understand what is normal in an environment, prevent attackers from abusing legitimate tools and automating investigation workflow to respond efficiently.
