Ahmar is Vice President for Partners and Advanced Solutions Sales at Broadcom, leading strategic partnerships to drive growth, innovation, and market leadership with the partner ecosystem, across Cloud Service Providers, OEMs, Hyperscalers, and Technology Alliances.
Prior to this role, Ahmar led the Global Transformation Office at VMware, where he orchestrated the company's evolution from a software-centric model to a cloud and subscription-focused organization. His responsibilities encompassed the development and execution of various initiatives, including standardized go-to-market plays, multi-cloud offerings, and subscription conversion programs. Under his leadership, VMware witnessed significant strides in transforming to the subscription licensing model, aligning business strategies with market trends and customer needs. In past roles at VMware, Ahmar has been responsible for VMware Cloud on AWS, AWS Sales Synergy, and Cloud Economics business development. His efforts were instrumental in accelerating cloud sales motions, fostering strategic partnerships, and delivering compelling value propositions to customers. Bringing over 24 years of cloud industry experience, Ahmar has led several business development, sales, and marketing teams at Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, prior to joining VMware. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Ahmar holds majors in Information Systems and Decision Sciences.

Bruce has over forty-four years of mainframe experience, ranging from operations, systems programming, data center management, and software design. Thirty of those years have been spent working with and programming XCOM with a focus on mainframe platforms.

He holds eight patents for the design and integration of XCOM's PLEXQ feature on z/OS.

As Director of Product Management &amp; Strategy in the Mainframe Division at Broadcom, Deborah Carbo is responsible for the transformation and modernization of information technology solutions that enable business success. Her team focuses on the most critical market challenges to develop strategy, delivering high quality design of mission-critical mainframe solutions. These include database management, output &amp; content management, and storage resource management. Over the course of her 25 years’ experience leading mainframe engineering and technology delivery, Deborah has held leadership positions in both software and hardware research and development and successfully led business transformation engagements for large complex enterprises within financial services, healthcare, retail and government sectors.

Steven Sammon is a graduate of Broadcom’s Mainframe Vitality Program. After completing the program’s residency, he was hired full-time as a system programmer in the financial services industry. Steven holds dual degrees in political science and philosophy from the University of Georgia and brings a nontraditional background to the mainframe field. He is passionate about work that blends challenge and purpose.
