WALTHAM, Mass.—January 7, 2015—Bit9® + Carbon Black®, the leader in Next-Generation Endpoint Security (NGES), today announced two new executives have joined its sales leadership team. Ken Hammond is the company’s vice president of worldwide channel sales, and Damon Cabanillas is vice president of federal region sales and operations.
Hammond is responsible for driving the company’s worldwide channel sales strategy, execution, market penetration and partner loyalty. He joins the company from Cisco System’s Security Architecture where he was head of global channel sales. While there, Hammond built a team that delivered record growth. Previously, Hammond served as director of channels for security vendor Sourcefire, where he helped double the organization’s channel business.
“Partners are our number-one sales multiplier and we plan to significantly enhance our tech and sales enablement in 2016,” Hammond said. “I’m excited to be leading that acceleration globally for Bit9 + Carbon Black. Our mantras are ‘mutual profitability’ and ‘speed of sale’ as we work together with our partners to enable customers to arm their endpoints against advanced threats and targeted attacks.”
Cabanillas, as vice president of federal sales and operations, is responsible for expanding Bit9 + Carbon Black’s federal customer base and expanding the federal sales team. He joins the company from Juniper Networks, where he led the federal civilian team to record year-over-year growth. His team was responsible for helping the U.S. government modernize its “Trusted Cyber Security Internet Architectures,” private data centers, and local campus and global networks.
Prior to Juniper, Cabanillas spent 15 years with Cisco Systems as a senior sales leader, helping global enterprises, financial services companies, state and local government, education providers, retailers, and healthcare organizations build out their real-time IP business collaboration platforms.
“I expect that Bit9 + Carbon Black will play a pivotal role in providing the U.S. federal government with next-generation endpoint security solutions against even the most advanced attackers,” Cabanillas said. “I look forward to partnering with government security leaders and their designated integrators to help protect our country from the ever-changing threat landscape.”
Ed Filippine, Bit9 + Carbon Black’s vice president of worldwide sales, said: “Ken and Damon bring excellent track records of success in their respective areas of expertise. I believe that they and their teams will play a major role as we execute our company strategy in 2016 and beyond.”
