Carbon Black Opens New Office in Boulder, Colorado to Expand Research & Development Presence

As the company’s tenth office, including the Waltham, Mass. headquarters, Boulder will expand opportunities for the city’s growing tech scene while advancing Carbon Black’s focus on delivering comprehensive endpoint protection for customers

WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Carbon Black, a leader in next-generation endpoint security, today announced the opening of its newest office in Boulder, Colorado. The office will be Carbon Black’s sixth office in the United States (including the Waltham, Mass. headquarters), and tenth globally, and will be dedicated to developing and bringing to market new products intended to prevent, detect, respond to, and predict cyberattacks.

“We recognized early on that Boulder provides a central location for our highly distributed staff while offering us the opportunity to continue to build out our national presence,” said Ryan Polk, Chief Product Officer at Carbon Black. “Now, with U.S. office locations in Waltham, Boston, Portland, Boulder, San Antonio, and Palo Alto, we have a strong presence across the country where team members can come together for in-person collaboration.”

As more tech talent relocates to the Greater Denver area, startups and large employers are investing in local Colorado towns such as Boulder. Additionally, the growing computer science programs found throughout the Front Range offer a strong pool of talent in the vibrant Boulder tech community that will further contribute to Carbon Black’s robust culture and key hires.

“Colorado is home to many innovative organizations and today we welcome Carbon Black to the list,” said Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. “The opening of Carbon Black’s Boulder office advances our cybersecurity sector and the state’s ability to compete in the global economy while promoting Colorado’s strong technology ecosystem.”

In total, the new office space will house approximately 120 people, with roles divided among sales, engineering, R&D, and threat research.

“Carbon Black’s decision to open an office here is a testament to Boulder’s innovation-driven economy and the density of tech talent in the area,” said Clif Harald, executive director of the Boulder Economic Council of the Boulder Chamber. “We’re especially excited that a company of Carbon Black’s caliber will help further establish Boulder’s – and Colorado’s – place in the transformative world of cybersecurity.”

The new office is located in the Pearl Street Mall in Downtown Boulder. For information on career opportunities available in Boulder and other locations, visit the Carbon Black website here
