Broad Virtualization Ecosystem Rallies Behind VMware vCenter™ Product Family to Deliver Integrated Solutions for Simplified Datacenter Management

More Than 200 Management and Infrastructure Partners Embrace Industry-Leading Family of Virtualization Management Solutions

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – August 31, 2009 – Today at VMworld 2009, VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization solutions from the desktop through the datacenter and to the cloud, announced broad support from its virtualization partner ecosystem, with more than 200 management and infrastructure partners supporting the VMware vCenter™ family of virtualization management products.  (See related press release also announced today: “VMware Ushers in a New Era of IT Management to Drive Business Agility with VMware vCenter Product Family.”) The company also announced expanded participation in its VMware Ready Management program. This robust ecosystem, which includes technology partners BMC, CA, Cisco, EMC, HP, IBM, Symantec and many others, extends the virtualization management capabilities of the VMware vCenter Product Family to enable integrated system management for customers of all sizes. Several of these partners are also taking VMware vCenter products to market with their own solutions through resell and OEM agreements with VMware.

The program also provides technical qualification, integration best practices and logo usage that offer customers an easy way to identify products that comply with VMware standards to tightly integrate with or extend native VMware vCenter management capabilities. This enables customers to more quickly deploy management solutions and drive new levels of agility and automation in the datacenter.
