VMware Launches Authorized Consulting Partner Program

Program Enables Leading Resellers and Systems Integrators to Sell VMware-certified Consulting Services

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 26, 2004 — VMware, Inc., the global leader in virtual infrastructure software for x86-based systems, today announced the VMware Authorized Consulting (VAC) Partner Program to address customer demand for consulting services. The VAC Partner Program is made up of a wide variety of resellers and systems integrators who can offer VMware-certified consulting services in addition to VMware products.

"The widespread adoption of our products around the world has created strong customer demand for consulting services that meet our stringent standards," said Jason Martin, director of professional services at VMware. "Organizations with professional service businesses can meet that demand, deliver services using best practices and materials created by VMware and increase billable time and margins."

VAC partners are required to train and certify their consultants to ensure the highest levels of services and customer satisfaction. Leading resellers, such as ExpertServer Group, Gibraltar Solutions, NewAge Technologies, UCA Systems and Venture Systems Source, and leading systems integrators, such as Brigh, NSI Software, RapidApp, RTS and ThinApse, are among those who have already joined the VAC Partner Program.

"The VAC Partner Program lets us deliver a full set of virtualization solutions to our customers," said Dave Martel, vice president of enterprise solutions at Expert Server Group. "Basically, it allows our experts to customize services based on best practices. The result is that our customers get total solutions from a single source."

"The VAC Partner Program lets us leverage our expertise to capitalize on new opportunities and deliver value to customers," said Mitch Northcutt, president of RapidApp. "This program helps us work with our clients to design, plan and deploy computing infrastructures in a compressed timeframe."

"We're finding great demand for services related to VMware, and the VAC Partner Program gives us a good way to work with VMware and provide certified services that help our customers implement virtual infrastructure," said Anthony Subbiah, Jr., vice president at UCA Systems.

Benefits to VAC partners include:

  • The ability to deliver pre-packaged consulting engagements, such as VMware VirtualCenter Jumpstart, VMware ESX Server Jumpstart and VMware Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) Migrations
  • Access to online educational resources and forums at VMware Channel Connect
  • Exposure and credibility as a recommended service provider
