VMware Announces General Availability of VMware vCloud(R) Suite 5.5 and VMware vSphere(R) With Operations Management(TM) 5.5

VMware Virtual SAN(TM) Now Available in Public Beta

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 23, 2013) - VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, today announced the general availability of VMware vCloud® Suite 5.5 and VMware vSphere with Operations Management™ 5.5, featuring new and enhanced availability and performance capabilities to support customers' business critical applications as well as new workloads. Additionally, VMware today announced VMware Virtual SAN is now available for download and trial via a public beta program.

The suite features VMware vSphere 5.5, which introduces new capabilities and enhancements across compute, storage, availability and backup to offer customers the best platform for all their applications. VMware Virtual SAN clusters server disks and flash to produce simple, high-performance, resilient shared storage designed for virtual machines.
