VMware Partners With HP on Enterprise Mobility to Enable the Next Generation Workplace

HP Mobility to Leverage AirWatch by VMware solutions

BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwired - Oct 14, 2014) - Today at VMworld® Europe, VMware (NYSE: VMW) announced AirWatch® by VMware solutions will partner with HP (NYSE: HPQ) global delivery expertise to enable a more mobile workforce. The partnership will benefit customers by decreasing deployment and return on investment timelines for mobile devices in the workplace.

The pace of mobile innovation continues to accelerate and organizations need access to the right combination of technology and services to address device management, secure application access, mobile strategy, mobile business applications, policy enforcement and regulatory compliance. By extending the existing HP Mobile Enterprise Services offering to include AirWatch by VMware solutions, customers will receive industry-leading AirWatch enterprise mobility management technology delivered through world-class HP enterprise services and support.

HP Managed Mobility Services packages supported by the AirWatch platform will include:

  • Management Essentials to quickly deploy full-featured enterprise mobile device and application management without infrastructure or capital investment
  • Trusted App Access to enable secure access and single sign-on to applications, offer flexibility for users to run apps from any source and enable BYO devices to run enterprise corporate applications and store data securely on the device

This new capability creates more choice for customers by adding on-demand cloud delivery to the existing HP managed cloud and on-premises options.

"We look forward to working together with HP to drive product innovation in core markets with a focus on security, mobile cloud and big data that enable end users to work at the speed of life across smartphones, tablets, laptops and the next generation of connected devices," said Sanjay Poonen, executive vice president and general manager, End-User Computing, VMware.
