Helping Destigmatise Mental Health Conditions In Australia’s Logistics Industry

VMware Staff

In 2021, VMware Tanzu Act began an engagement with the mental health organisation Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (HHTS). HHTS was founded with a mission to improve the mental health and well-being of Australia’s logistics industry employees. Truck drivers, warehouse workers and other road transport workers often experience long periods of isolation, stress and fatigue that affect their mental health but may be less likely to seek support. HHTS was looking to destigmatise mental health conditions and make mental health support more accessible to the community.

Through multiple user interviews, the Tanzu Labs team developed an understanding of the logistics community's needs and designed a product tailored to their lifestyles. The result was a simple-to-use mobile app with features like daily well-being check-ins, stretching and breathing exercises, and access to mental health support service providers. Watch the video below to learn how the team’s approach to this project enabled true user impact.

VMware Tanzu Act, offered by Tanzu Labs, partners with nonprofit organisations and charities worldwide to provide solutions to pressing challenges. Its focus on user-centred design and empathy-led solutions strengthens VMware’s commitment to innovation and embodies our core EPIC2 values. The program helps address humanitarian, social and environmental matters, contributing to a more sustainable, equitable community—an integral part of VMware’s 2030 Agenda.
