Bruce has over forty-four years of mainframe experience, ranging from operations, systems programming, data center management, and software design. Thirty of those years have been spent working with and programming XCOM with a focus on mainframe platforms.

He holds eight patents for the design and integration of XCOM's PLEXQ feature on z/OS.

Donna Amaral leads Broadcom’s Mainframe Vitality Program, helping customers build lasting workforce resiliency and strategies for succession planning. Based in the Boston area, she brings over 40 years of experience in mainframe software development, customer success, and program design. Her career spans both mainframe and distributed environments, with a strong focus on enhancing the customer experience. Donna is passionate about enabling the next generation of mainframers and guiding organizations through critical talent transitions.

Ed Blazejewski is a Senior Solution Manager and Incubation Co-lead with over 25 years of experience in engineering, R&amp;D, and product management. He currently leads strategy for Broadcom’s output management suite and has previously driven innovation across Blockchain, Security, and DevOps portfolios. A former chair of CA Technologies’ patent review board, Ed holds two U.S. patents and has led global agile development teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Known for fostering empowered, self-directed teams and navigating complex cross-functional initiatives, Ed combines technical depth with strong business acumen. Ed’s core strengths include agile transformation and innovation enablement, with a proven ability to drive growth through both product excellence and operational rigor. He is a passionate culture builder, spearheading initiatives to foster collaboration, accountability, and innovation across the organization.

George DeCandio has recently joined Broadcom as the CTO of the Mainframe Software Division, where he leads a team of architects overseeing product development across the entire mainframe portfolio. Ismarji Workman is a graduate of the Broadcom Mainframe Vitality Program and a passionate software developer with a background in biology and healthcare. After earning her degree from the University of Georgia and working in ophthalmology for several years, she transitioned into tech through a full-stack coding bootcamp. Today, she brings a unique, cross-disciplinary perspective to mainframe development and continues to grow her expertise in enterprise technology.

Libor Cerny is a Product Manager in Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division, where he focuses on delivering impactful solutions that drive customer success. With over 25 years of experience in product and operations management across the software industry, Libor brings a deep understanding of market needs and execution. He is based in Prague, Czech Republic.

Perry Jones is a seasoned Product Manager in Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division, where he leads the CA 1™ Flexible Storage™ solution. With over 13 years of mainframe experience, Perry oversees all aspects of the product lifecycle—including roadmap development, customer support, marketing, and sales enablement—ensuring CA 1 remains a trusted solution for secure, scalable, and cost-effective data storage across disk, tape, and cloud environments. Perry actively engages with customers through roadmap webcasts, early-access validation programs, and industry events. A frequent contributor to the mainframe ecosystem, Perry writes on themes such as data lifecycle management, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency. He is recognized for his customer-centric approach and for driving innovation that bridges legacy systems with modern cloud and security architectures.

Simon Dunand is a graduate of the Broadcom Mainframe Vitality Program and a passionate software developer. He took an interest in the mainframe world while earning his Software-Engineering degree from Concordia University. Today, he brings a unique, Multicultural, cross-disciplinary perspective to mainframe development and continues to grow his expertise in the field.

Steven Sammon is a graduate of Broadcom’s Mainframe Vitality Program. After completing the program’s residency, he was hired full-time as a system programmer in the financial services industry. Steven holds dual degrees in political science and philosophy from the University of Georgia and brings a nontraditional background to the mainframe field. He is passionate about work that blends challenge and purpose.
