A Broadcom Knight with a specialty in VCF shares his excitement and valuable insights gained from the recent Broadcom Knights partner event in Orlando

The Broadcom Knights event in Orlando last month was nothing short of extraordinary. As a Broadcom Knight with a specialty in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), I had the privilege of joining fellow technical experts from around the world to engage in deep discussions and gain exclusive insights into the next version of VCF, as well as participating in hands-on training. Yet the event wasn’t just about learning -- it was also about connecting with a global community of elite professionals who are driving innovation in enterprise IT.

First founded by Symantec, (part of Broadcom), the Broadcom Knights program has expanded over the years to support Broadcom’s enterprise and mainframe software portfolio and now also supports Broadcom’s VMware solutions. Based on my deep experience and certifications with VMware, I was grandfathered as a Broadcom Knight with a specialty in VCF.  Broadcom Knights are highly technical experts who must meet rigorous certification and training requirements, and are treated as an extension of Broadcom’s engineering team. We get early access to product roadmaps and other information to help enterprise customers and services partners - not only to do implementation and architecture work, but also to prepare for new releases and integrations.

While many of the customers work with VMware solutions, some are still in the early stages of their VCF journey. At comdivision, our training and experience working with VCF, including the current version 5.2, enable us to really help customers make the right decisions for their environment.

VCF: What’s New and What’s Next?

One of the key highlights of the Orlando event was an in-depth exploration of the next version of VCF. This version is expected to provide several enhancements that simplify multi-cloud operations, improve security, and optimize workload management. Through dedicated technical sessions, we explored:

  • Simplified Deployment & Automation – New automation capabilities that streamline infrastructure deployment.
  • Enhanced Security Features – Strengthened security measures that enhance workload isolation and compliance.
  • Better Integration with Tanzu – Improved Kubernetes support, making it easier for enterprises to manage modern applications.

Understanding these updates firsthand and discussing them with the minds behind the technology reinforced how VCF continues to evolve as the backbone of enterprise cloud strategy.

VCF LiveFire Training: Hands-On Expertise

A standout feature of the event was the VCF LiveFire training, an immersive experience where we tackled real-world scenarios that organizations face in their cloud transformation journey. This training was not just theoretical learning -- it was also about rolling up our sleeves and diving into practical use cases. From troubleshooting complex deployment challenges to optimizing performance, LiveFire training equipped us with actionable insights that we can directly apply to customer environments.

vSphere Supervisor: The Future of Declarative Infrastructure

Another key focus was vSphere Supervisor, a critical component that enables self-service consumption through an integrated declarative API. With businesses increasingly adopting cloud-like operational models, understanding the capabilities of vSphere Supervisor is essential. Our training covered:

  • Declarative Infrastructure & Workload Management – How vSphere Supervisor simplifies infrastructure consumption.
  • Integrated API for Self-Service – Enabling seamless management of workloads using Kubernetes CLI, GUI, and APIs.
  • Enhanced Governance and Compliance – Helping admins set quotas and policies while providing a frictionless user experience.

This hands-on training reinforced why vSphere Supervisor is a key enabler for organizations looking to streamline infrastructure management while maintaining control over governance and security.

The Power of Community: Networking with Global Experts

Attending the Broadcom Knights event in Orlando was an incredible experience that deepened my expertise, expanded my professional network, and reinforced the value of being part of the Broadcom Knights program. The insights gained—whether about the next version of VCF, VCF LiveFire training, or vSphere Supervisor—are invaluable for helping organizations navigate the complexities of cloud transformation. Broadcom’s continued commitment to innovation and partner enablement is highly rewarding. As a Broadcom Knight, I am excited and well prepared to help our VCF customers take full advantage of the platform’s current – and future -- offerings.

While the technical sessions were invaluable, the most rewarding aspect of the event was the opportunity to connect with fellow Knights. By engaging in conversations with top experts from around the globe, I was able to gain unique perspectives on industry trends, best practices, and real-world challenges. These connections will extend beyond the event, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing that benefits the entire Broadcom community.  I would also like to thank my Broadcom sponsor, John Arrasjid for his support in the program and continued mentorship.

For any organization looking to stay ahead in the evolving cloud landscape, embracing the advancements in VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere Supervisor is a must. As Broadcom Knights, we are committed to leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation and deliver excellence in every customer engagement.
