Amid the pandemic’s unpredictable trajectory, retailers are facing a new reality. And as consumer patterns and expectations evolve, the industry must embrace the growing role of technologies like cloud and apps as part of business strategies. Since the start of the pandemic, VMware found that 88% of retail executives increased investment in new digital-first experiences.1

However, as retailers look to innovate across clouds and apps, they must also consider security. Last year, 73% of retail executives experienced a major security breach.2 Increased digital operations have expanded the attack landscape.
