The long-time partnership between Broadcom and Carahsoft Technology Corp, a leading distributor for Federal, State, and Local Government agencies and Education markets, is entering an exciting new phase. Carahsoft is expanding the Broadcom Expert Advantage Partner (EAP) professional services ecosystem by integrating unique services into its portfolio and leveraging the expertise of EAP to drive technology adoption and accelerate customer outcomes.
A Unique Model for Public Sector Success
The relationship with Carahsoft and Broadcom’s Expert Advantage Program partners is a unique model. Unlike other distributors, Carahsoft does not have its own internal services business. Instead, they depend on the EAP partner ecosystem to deliver services for government agencies. Carahsoft serves as an orchestrator, connecting non-EAP partners with the deep technical expertise of Broadcom’s EAP partners. Through this connection, non-EAP partners can provide their customers with the right technical expertise best-suited to accelerate technology adoption and achieve successful, measurable outcomes for Public Sector agencies.
The relationship also benefits Broadcom partners. Non-EAP partners get to quickly and easily add services to their customer contracts simply by ordering from the Carahsoft portfolio. EAP partners see more service opportunities and incremental revenue streams.
“The importance of vendor-agnostic services coordination in the Public Sector cannot be overstated,” says Michael Durkin, Head of Global Partner Support & Enablement at Broadcom. “By connecting customers to the broader EAP partner ecosystem, we are encouraging our teams and customers to leverage Carahsoft as the gateway for specialized services opportunities and support.”
Expanding the Ecosystem with VCF and Beyond
While the current focus of this collaboration is centered on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), the long-term vision includes a cross-Broadcom strategy involving other Broadcom solutions.
"This marks a significant expansion of Carahsoft’s leadership role in Broadcom’s distribution and EAP ecosystem,” said Harrison Smyth, Vice President overseeing the VMware portfolio business at Carahsoft. “We offer a unique level of support for EAPs that extends beyond the VMware portfolio, providing opportunities for Experience Days and lab access that help differentiate our offerings."
Driving Adoption Through Hands-On Training
A cornerstone of this partnership is technical enablement. Through initiatives like VCF Experience Days, Carahsoft provides hands-on implementation training that helps customers navigate the complexities of modern infrastructure.
"Carahsoft helps customers understand the value of VCF throughout the entire journey,” said Corey Rooney, Director of Partner Business Development at Carahsoft. “We provide critical technical guidance to customers and partners through hands-on training sessions. The VCF Experience Days play a key role in driving successful customer outcomes and accelerating technology adoption."
Success in Action: A Case Study
The power of this collaboration is already evident in the partnership. For example, after a public school system created a VMware support ticket for an emergency full environment rebuild, Carahsoft brought in a Broadcom EAP partner after hours to begin trouble shooting. They successfully restored critical infrastructure, avoiding disruption. The entire engagement, which secured and delivered specialized services for the public school system, required 87 services hours to finish the complete environment redesign. This success story serves as a blueprint for how distribution and EAP partners can work in tandem to solve complex public sector challenges.
We are excited for this new phase of the Broadcom and Carahsoft partnership. The expansion will ultimately drive more value for our mutual Government customers.
