The momentum we’re seeing for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) among our customers is both strong and measurable. As VCF Division General Manager Krish Prasad remarked in his recent blog, we have surpassed even our own ambitious expectations. I am equally impressed by how our most dedicated and strategic VMware Cloud Service Providers (VCSP) partners are enabling customers to adopt modern private clouds through turnkey managed services. These offerings accelerate time-to-value and help bridge essential skills gaps during cloud transformation. In addition, VCSP partners are delivering sovereign cloud services that address critical requirements such as data residency, regulatory compliance, and jurisdictional controls.

As we continue on the path towards driving customer success with VCF, we are leaning into VCSP partners that are committed to unlocking as much value as possible from our private cloud platform. Over the past year, as we’ve worked with our VCSP ecosystem, we’ve clearly seen a difference between those partners that have evolved and are “all-in” on VCF as a managed service, and those that are still reliant on traditional approaches and legacy models. Often this includes offering basic vSphere software and support services rather than delivering true managed private cloud as a service.

To help guide our partners in aligning their VCSP offerings to our expectations, we are providing more clarity as to what constitutes a VCSP managed service offering. Moving forward, our VCSP partners must offer a fully managed service that includes VMware Cloud Foundation software, the VCSP partner’s managed services, and the partner’s hardware delivered either as a public cloud offering or on-premises as a hybrid cloud offering. Further details of these updates are available in the Product Licensing Guide (PLG) for the VMware Cloud Service Provider (VCSP) Route to Market available to you in the Broadcom Advantage Partner Portal.

VCSPs are pivotal to our modern private cloud approach. With VCF, customers benefit from a highly efficient cloud operating model that provides the scale and agility of public cloud with the security and performance of private cloud. The Broadcom Advantage Partner Program for VCSP partners is designed to build stronger relationships with our most valued partners and recognize them for their commitment to Broadcom and their dedication to helping customers. By bringing clarity to how we define a VCSP managed service provider, we will help the focused set of partners that are committed to our approach to grow their businesses and make a positive impact with customers.
